WYLD WYLD

The Waikato Young Leaders Day provides experiences for Year 9's to develop and display confidence in themselves and others in order to demonstrate leadership/volunteerism in their school and wider community.

Core components

WYLD Day gives the students tools that help them to:
  • understand and manage the transition from a junior to a senior.
  • identify and manage peer pressure.
  • develop self-esteem.
  • step up to school/life challenges.
  • develop new perspectives when looking at their peers, teachers, friends and family members.
  • cope with juggling the demands of life and school.

"What amazing speakers, their stories were all so different but showed us leadership in different places can be so the same!" "Different is special - that's what Jeremy Mayall shared with us. I like that about leadership!"
