Meet the Staff
Jack Clayton
Jack started as the WILSS General Manager in April 2018.
His previous role was at Hockey New Zealand, as the Community Hockey Manager for Young People. Prior to that Jack held the conjoined role of Regional Development Manager for Waikato Hockey Association and the Sportsforce Hockey Development Office for Sport Waikato.
Before his move into the sport sector he was the Head of Automotive at WINTEC and earlier spent 22 years in the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Paula Dewar
As the School Programme Manager at WILSS Paula's role focuses upon leadership and volunteerism with Primary, Intermediate and Secondary School students as well as community groups.
Her qualifications include BTchg, BEd and PGDip SPLS and a Masters in Sport & Leisure Studies (2015).
Paula has taught at both Secondary and Tertiary Institutions and thoroughly enjoys the interaction with learners and in particular, youth. She is a coach and through this has a passion in supporting and guiding our future leaders through the leadership development programmes she delivers at WILSS.

Alan Peary
Alan is the Tertiary Programmes Manager at WILSS. He brings over 25 years of experience within Secondary and Tertiary education in New Zealand to the role, with more than 15 years at senior management levels.
He has a diverse employment background with roles such as freelance graphic designer, business owner, secondary schoolteacher and academic manager.
His qualifications include BA (Hons), DipTch, DipMin, and MEdL.

Bevan Nichol
Bevan started his professional career as an Environmental Planner at the Department of Conservation while running his own business promoting music events in the Waikato region.
He’s an international hockey umpire and worked as a Development Manager at Waikato Hockey while facilitating the WILSS Sport Coaching and Business Management Courses.
Bevan now leads the WILSS Sport Coaching and Youth Volunteering programmes, refining his skills in coach development, adult education, and facilitating.

Zelda Tucker
Zelda provides programme/administration support for the WILSS team.
Her experience within the education sector has included 12 years as a Business Administration Tutor for a Private Training Provider as well as managing a community education programme at a local secondary school.
She has a BA (Hons) from Massey University and a Certificate in Adult Teaching.
